The fund supports projects in Tyne and Wear and Northumberland that aim to improve the life chances of disadvantaged communities. Priority will be given to organisations with and income of up to £100k, but organisations with a larger income may apply if their project meets the fund aims.
Applications should clearly show how groups/areas facing greatest disadvantage will be improved or supported.
Examples of disadvantaged communities include those affected by poverty, unemployment, homelessness, asylum seeker/refugee status, disability and people with learning disabilities.
Activities that will be funded include befriending, advice and guidance, training, advocacy and any other focused activities designed to improve an individual, group or community’s situation.
