Expression of Interest: Free Community Defibrillators Available for Local Groups

Defibrillator CPR practice

The North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (NEAS) is inviting local community groups and organisations to express their interest in taking part in a project to expand access to Community Public Access Defibrillators (cPADs) across the North East.

Through this initiative, eligible groups could receive a free Zoll AED3 defibrillator, secure cabinet, and training to help save lives in their local community.

The project aims to make lifesaving equipment more widely available in public spaces. To ensure good local coverage, NEAS recommends a placement radius of around 500 metres between existing cPAD sites. Applications and proposed locations will be reviewed for approval, and support is available for groups that need advice or guidance.

This stage is an expression of interest only. Once responses are gathered, NEAS will move to the next phase of meetings and allocation, followed by further details for participating groups.

If your organisation is interested, please read the following documents and complete the expression of interest form:

Please return your expression of interest by Friday 1 November 2025.

For questions or support, please contact Paul Brolly, Community Development Officer I Volunteer and Development Team. Email paul.brolly@neas.nhs.uk. Tel: 07966281673
