Facilities Volunteers (Maintenance)
Our fantastic Facilities Team at St Oswald's Hospice is looking for helping hands to support a wide variety of tasks right across the Hospice. If you are a dab hand at DIY and have practical maintenance skills to share or develop, we’d love to hear from you. This role supports our friendly and busy team in keeping our clinical areas, offices and other spaces in good working order as a safe and welcoming place to be.
We are currently recruiting two volunteers for this role which is based on site at our Hospice in Gosforth. The role is flexible Monday to Friday, ideally on a weekly/fortnightly basis.
The roles are set up to support the effective running of facilities across our Hospice site, by assisting with maintenance tasks such as painting and decorating; changing light bulbs; maintaining patient equipment and furniture; supporting routine alarm testing; and general building maintenance.

What skills do I need?
Personal Qualities / Skills / Experience: • An aptitude / interest in practical ‘DIY’ tasks • Organised and methodical • Friendly and approachable • Comfortable and confident working across the full hospice site , including clinical areas. • Keen to work as part of a team • Ability to support physically demanding tasks (moving furniture etc) • Ability to model our values and standards of behaviour as outlined on our website at https://www.stoswaldsuk.org/who-we-are/our-values-and-people-charter
