The Pilgrim Trust’s Young Women in Mind Programme

The Young Women in Mind programme, established by The Pilgrim Trust, is dedicated to improving the mental health of young women aged 16 to 25 across the UK. With £5 million allocated over five years (2021–2026), this programme provides essential funding to organisations that increase young women’s access to high-quality, age- and gender-specific mental health services.

Grants ranging from £60,000 to £100,000 are available, spread over three years. These grants cover a variety of costs, including project expenses, staff salaries, advocacy, and learning and evaluation activities. The funding is specifically targeted at organisations based in North East England and Yorkshire and the Humber, where there is a significant need for improved access to mental health services for young women.

Application Process and Key Dates

Organisations interested in applying must first submit a Stage One application by 7 July 2025. Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to submit a Stage Two application by 22 August 2025. Final decisions on successful applications will be made in November 2025. In 2024, 31% of Stage One applications and 52% of Stage Two applications were successful, highlighting the competitive nature of the programme.
