Friends of North Tyneside

FONTJoin a team of volunteers aged 50+ to help make North Tyneside an even better place for children, young people, older residents and those in need.

About

The Friends of North Tyneside project is a 12-week volunteering programme that gives people aged 50+ the chance to make a real difference in their community. Join a team of volunteers to help make North Tyneside a better place for children, young people, older residents and those in need in the borough.

By volunteering 12 hours a week for 3 months, you'll not only be making a huge difference but you'll also be putting your spare time to good use, develop new skills and take on new challenges.

No previous skills or knowledge is required as training and supervision will be provided at every step of the way. We would love to here from people from all walks of life who are keen to put their time and skills to good use over a short period of time.

Get Involved

We are looking for people aged 50 and over to offer 12 hours of their time each week over a three month period. Volunteers can sign up to four different opportunities:

  • Help children prepare for school by supporting pre-school learning activities.
  • Help young people get ready for work by supporting enterprise and employability activities.
  • Make older residents feel safe and special by planning and running social activities.
