Barista Volunteer

Are you 18 plus and unemployed? Would you like to volunteer whilst undergoing Barista training delivered by the Tynemouth Coffee company, followed by volunteering in the YMCA café?

The Barista training comprises of a 20 hour course which is divided into 10 hours training, 10 hours serving and gaining practical experience. There are only 2-3 people per training hours so it a small team of people learning together with plenty of time to develop your skills. After this you will be able to volunteer in the YMCA cafe to perfect your skills.

To provide real opportunities for people to experience the hospitality industry, to support those within the community who are furtherest from the labour market, including those learners who have a learning difficulty or disability to mentor and share their live experiences.
To provide real work placements, build skills and confidence and support learners to find employment.

What skills do I need?

Someone 18 plus, Unemployed, Friendly, who wants to develop their customer service skills. Can commit to 20 hours over one week, then flexible volunteering afterwards, the training begins in September.
