Befriending & Enablement Volunteer
To supply short-term support and companionship whether it be by telephone, befriending or enablement. You will be supporting people who are housebound or who need to reconnect with people and their local community
About MHA Communities North Tyneside
MHA Communities is charity which offers social opportunities to older people who are often isolated and lonely. Do you have a little too much time on your hands, need some company yourself, or would just like to do something which is rewarding and makes a real difference to peoples lives?
Our services are founded on love, compassion and respect
Could you spare a few hours a week to transform the lives of older people by helping at one of our weekly groups ( lunch clubs, supported outings, shopping trips).

What skills do I need?
You need to be able to connect with people and have good listening and motivational skills. All of our volunteers undergo personal interviews, enhanced DBS checks and relevant training.

You must be able to commit to the 6 weeks, where possible. e.g. 2 hours a week for 6 weeks. This is to ensure regular support to the member. - Age restrictions

Availability Details
Volunteering will usually be required for periods of a couple of hours, this will be between the hours of 9.00am and 3.00/4.00pm.
