Community Buddy
Main Duties:
To provide support to the Carer Community Link Worker (CCLW) to encourage, support and accompany carers to activities in the community. Thereby helping carers to connect to local services, activities or groups which will aid them to reduce their feelings of loneliness and isolation.
Main Role tasks:
· Travel to venues with carers (public transport)
· Attend activities for the first time
· Explore other options if the carer changes their mind
· Keep the CCLW up to date with developments
About North Tyneside Carers' Centre
North Tyneside Carers’ Centre is an independent charity, with a board of trustees and around 22 employees and 25 volunteers
Carers are involved at every level of our organisation including policy and service development and are represented on the board of trustees, our staff team and volunteers. Our core services include Adult Carer support and Young Carer support. We run a number additional services that offer carers a range of high quality services to help them look after their own health and wellbeing, and cope better in their caring role.
We provide training and information for carers who live or care for someone in North Tyneside, professionals supporting carers and employers looking to understand carers in their workforce.

· To listen to concerns and demonstrate empathy
· An ability to build confidence in others
· Effective communication skills
· Organisational skills
· Competent using Zoom, MS Teams, Word and email.
· Able to recognise when to ask for support.

Availability Details
Hours of volunteering: Variable to suit volunteer and the needs of the project. As part of the volunteer recruitment process we will explore when the applicant would be able to commit.
