Cooking volunteer

Cooking a hot lunch for 40 senior citizens.

Tasks include:

Helping to prepare meat and vegetables and puddings.

Helping to clean up dishes etc (dishwasher available).

Leaving the kitchen tidy, as we find it.

Welcoming older people.

About St Luke's Church Lunch Club

Lunch club open to senior citizens of North Tyneside.
Provide hot lunch and socialize for part of the day.
Bingo played after lunch.
it serves as a social point for several pensioners every Wednesday.

What skills do I need?

No skills needed for general volunteering, but it would be a help if you like cooking and know how to set tables etc. 

Friendly and approachable - to meet and welcome the older people coming in. The people who come every week love to hear about daily events and always thank us for the meal.
