Reception volunteer
Volunteers are an important and valued part of the Whitley Bay Hub.
We are looking for reception volunteers - The main duties are: guiding people to sessions/rooms, answering telephone enquiries, giving information on groups, giving room availability, signposting people to external support services.
We will introduce you to how the organisation works and your role in it, help you to develop your skills and to provide any training you need.
About Whitley Bay Big Local (Hub)
Whitley Bay Hub is a space for everyone to come together. We operate a community café, shop and a huge range of activities and events from our meeting spaces. Volunteers can get involved with many of our activities. We offer drop ins, where people who are lonely and socially isolated can come to meet other people, have a drink and meet others in similar circumstances. Our community shop is open 3 times per week, run by volunteers who support customers to get access to affordable essentials. We have a small garden maintained by volunteers every week. Volunteers support children’s craft activities and family events to engage people in the local area. We have a volunteer helpdesk offering information/advice or be signposting for specialist support. We can even support volunteers to work in the café or to help with admin tasks! You will find that Whitley Bay Big Local is an incredibly warm and engaging place, whatever your interests and we hope you get in touch to see if we can get you involved as a volunteer at Whitley Bay Hub!
