Regional Safeguarding Lead

Support North East Netball as the Regional Safeguarding Lead and help Netball be the best it can be.

Netball organisations across the Country are committed to the establishment of a safe, fair and inclusive sporting environment and put this at the heart of everything they do. In this Safeguarding role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring this. You will act as the Regional Safeguarding Lead for North East Netball and will lead the case management, and the development & implementation of safeguarding and welfare policies & processes within the North East.

The role is perfect for someone with experience or a strong interest in safeguarding case management and who is purpose and value driven to achieve the best for our sport.

England Netball work in partnership with Regions and County Netball Associations and Registered Clubs and Leagues to support the network of volunteers through provision of specialist support, web-based tools, virtual networks and learning materials, to those who hold appointed or elected roles.

A REGIONAL SAFEGUARDING LEAD WILL:

· Be aware of the England Netball Safeguarding & Disciplinary Regulations, Code of Conducts, Safeguarding, Whistleblowing Policies and Netball Formal Resolution Flowchart.

· Respect and promote the spirit and intentions of England Netball’s Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball policy.

· Be the first point of contact for all safeguarding related concerns at North East Netball and ensure that these concerns are appropriately dealt with in a timely manner in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.

· Lead the implementation of EN policies and procedures relating to Safeguarding and Codes of Conduct across the County and develop training and awareness programmes for the policies for all relevant stakeholders.

· Work closely with the Resolution Lead to resolve complaints and uphold the integrity of netball at all levels.

· Work alongside the Organisation Committee to ensure that those working in regulated activity in the North East are appropriately vetted and outcomes are managed and recorded appropriately.

Signpost individuals to the appropriate external organisation or local authority where relevant to address their concern if beyond the scope of the organization.

· Keep GDPR compliant records and feedback any relevant information and trends to the Organisation Committee and England Netball Safeguarding & Welfare Manager as required.

· Carry out the role to the best of their ability, act with professionalism and integrity, and always in the best interests of Netball.

· Ensure their role is recorded on Engage.

The overall aim of the North East Region is to provide access to lifelong netball opportunities through the development of participation, partnerships and quality support systems. We aim to complete this vision, by introducing new players to the game of netball and sustaining their participation, encourage volunteers to help out with all aspects of netball, from event organisation right through to umpiring, there are opportunities for you to get involved.
Overall we are a passionate region, who wants to give the very best to the people living within it. We want to raise awareness of netball, and get as many people as we can playing the game.

What skills do I need?

THE QUALITIES WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A COUNTY/REGIONAL SAFEGUARDING LEAD ARE:

· Interest in, and time to support, netball to flourish as a sport

· Organised, with experience in administration and planning

· Will NOT hold any other role within Netball that may cause a Conflict of Interest in carrying out the role of Regional Safeguarding Lead
