Summer School Volunteer
As a Summer School volunteer you will be supporting Success4All members of staff in delivering our summer school program. The Summer school day will run from 8:30am – 3:30pm. The program will consist of a mixture of engaging trips out in the in the mornings and fun indoor and outdoor activities in the afternoons. The program will cater for children aged 5-15 and you would be working either with our ‘Year 3 and Under' group or our ‘Year 4 and Over’ group. Your role will be to serve as an extra pair of hands and eyes and ears; interacting with the young people taking part in the programme in order to encourage them, support their ability to engage in and gain the most from the planned activities and generally help to grow their self-confidence.
About Success4All CIO
Success4All know that children and young people from certain areas aren't reaching their full potential, however this is not due to a shortfall in their capabilities but because of a lack of opportunities, support and confidence. We engage, empower and equip children and young people because educational success should be for everyone. We run Learning Hubs that are relaxed learning spaces where children and young people can access support tailored to their needs. We also run a range of Clubs and an annual Summer School.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for volunteers with a warm and approachable manner that the children and young people will respond well to. Volunteers should also: be reliable and committed; be able to communicate well with the children, staff and other volunteers; have a warm and friendly approach in order to befriend the children and young people; be patient and calm and be passionate about the organisation and supporting and empowering children and young people. These volunteers will also need to have/be willing to obtain a DBS check. We are asking volunteers to commit to supporting at least 1 full week of the programme and a full induction will be provided.
